Like any person, I have my fair share of opinions - some good and well reasoned, some of questionable validity, and some that can only be described as semi-coherent rants. Since this is my web site and I decide what gets posted, you'll get to see selections from each catagory.
Recent additions are What to expect when I become emperor and Some comments on driving habits.
A word on marketing mathI realize that advertising doesn't require strong math skills, but I've listened to this item enough times. When you state precentages in "times" you are working in increments of 100%. If item A costst $1 and item B costs three times as much, then item B costs $3. Still with me? good. Now lets go the other way. If item A costs $1 and item B costs three times less, that means that your paying the customer $2 to take it. If item B actually costs 1/3 of a dollar then it is ONE THIRD as much. So far I have resisted the urge to do something like walk into a car dealership and demand that they give me a free car and $20,000 in cash because they advertised that their model was two times less than the competitor next door. If I could find a dozen jurors with basic math skills it might even be worthwhile taking that one to court.
More will be added periodically.
